SafeSpark can both repair and replace your consumer units. Our professional team of electricians replace hundreds of boards every year, installing new safer metal consumer units in compliance with current regulations.
The SafeSpark team will offer advice on things such as the location of the new board, considering practicality and safety aspects. For example, if the board is in a low position making it harder to isolate a circuit a member of the SafeSpark team would offer the option of trunking up and having the consumer unit in a higher location. Along with this our experts do the smaller jobs within a consumer unit such as replacing a faulty circuit breaker.
If your Fuse Board is made from plastic – We recommend to our customers a new board change if the board is made from plastic, a combustible material. This is because it’s unsafe, due to its vulnerability to damage in an event of a fire. So, if your board is old, it might be time for an upgrade.
Poor wiring – Current regulations have a higher degree of security. Keep a look out for exposed cable joins, broken accessories and burning/discolouration. An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report), would be warranted to ensure your property has the highest degree of electrical safety!
